Chariton Valley Electric Cooperative, Inc. (CVEC) is owned and controlled by the members it serves.  We are located in southeast Iowa and serve parts of 7 counties surrounding Rathbun Lake.  We are governed by a board of directors, elected by and from the membership.  Our finances are audited by the Rural Utilities Service (RUS), the federal agency which has provided loans for Rural Electric Cooperatives development and growth.  Our operations are regulated by the Utilities Division of the Iowa Utilities Board (IUB).
